Funding for two, three and four year old children

As part of the Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership, Little Acorns Nursery is eligible to claim the Nursery Educational Funding.(NEF). This is paid direct to Little Acorns Nursery and is deducted from the fees of eligible children. 15 hours is the maximum a child can be eligible for. The maximum that can be claimed in one full day is 10 hours and the minimum is 2.5 hours, 15 hours can be claimed over 2 to 5 days.

A parent/carer can use their hours at any setting but must not claim over 15 hours, also funding must not be used at more than two settings. Most parents/carers use their child's funding as a monthly deduction from their fees.
As of September 2017 parents who are eligible will be entitled to a maximum of 30 hours of 3 & 4 year old funding.

Parents will generally be eligible for the additional funded hours if all parents work at least 16 hours per week and earn less than £100,000. York City Council will be responsible for confirming whether you are eligible. For more information and to check eligibility see
